Helping You Navigate Life’s Transitions, Relationships, and Healing

Bel Fin – Melbourne Counsellor and Clinical Psychotherapist. Welcome to my practice, where I provide a warm, supportive space to explore life’s challenges with curiosity and care. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, navigating life transitions, experiencing relationship strain, or seeking deeper self-understanding, psychotherapy can offer a path forward. You don’t have to do it alone.

I offer individual psychotherapy, trauma therapy, relationship counselling, and family-of-origin work in Melbourne and via telehealth across Australia and internationally.

We will take a flexible, responsive approach to therapy, focusing on what is meaningful for you and nourishing your connection with Self and others. I will draw from clinical psychotherapy such as attachment-focused therapy, somatic trauma therapy, and evidence-based relational approaches such as family systems therapy. We work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, childhood emotional or physical abuse, intergenerational patterns, medical trauma, identity shifts, and relational difficulties. While perinatal mental health is one area of speciality, I support people in different stages of life.

Together, we collaborate, working at your pace to deepen self-understanding, heal past wounds, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. My approach is compassionate and grounded in research on neurobiology, attachment, trauma recovery and emotional wellbeing.

Our Services

  • Who I Work With

No matter your background, you are welcome here. I work with individuals navigating life transitions—such as new parenthood, relationship changes, career shifts, inter-cultural pressures, change of life, or personal reinvention.

I support those working through attachment and intimacy challenges, childhood trauma, and complex relational dynamics. Many clients are recovering from trauma, including abuse, PTSD, or significant life events (such as having a baby, processing a diagnosis, or grieving a loss) and are exploring meaning, identity, and purpose.

I am affirming of the challenges you face and respectful to your identity. Whether you’re drawn to evidence-based therapy, or other contemporary approaches, or a mix of both I’ll meet you where you are.

  • Support On Offer

I support people through a wide range of concerns, including relationship challenges, anxiety, burnout, career changes, search for meaning, self-esteem, parenting stress, perinatal issues, grief, identity exploration, and cross-cultural pressures.

My work is especially attuned to the experiences of those navigating emotional overwhelm, disconnection in relationships, and life transitions - such as new parenthood, personal reinvention, or high-responsibility roles. I also support for neurodivergent people and parents of neurodivergent people.

Some clients come seeking clarity or practical strategies; others are looking for deeper healing, emotional growth, or long-term change. I offer both short-term counselling and longer-term therapy, grounded in evidence-based and contemporary practice.

See “Services” to learn more about the support on offer.

  • How we work together

Therapy at Riverkin is a collaborative, supportive process. We work at your pace to deepen self-understanding, heal past wounds, and create meaningful change.

Our work together will be grounded in the latest research on neurobiology, attachment, and emotional well-being. We go beyond basic psychology, and look at the whole you; your emotions, body, and relationship templates because healing happens through the whole system, not just the mind.

While we work with psychological insight, we don’t take a diagnosis-first or CBT-only approach. Instead, we use attachment-oriented, and somatic and nervous system (body-aware) methods that support deep, lasting change.

Sessions are available online and in Thornbury. Ask about visiting the Eltham/Warrandyte clinics.
